Lace up your skates and join us for a fantastic free public skating session at the Stephen Township Arena! From 11:00 AM to 11:50 AM, enjoy gliding across the ice with friends and family. No registration is required, just come on down and have some fun! To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, please take a moment to review the following guidelines:
Skate Safely: Maintain control of your speed and direction, avoiding sudden stops or changes in course that could disrupt other skaters. Please do not skate in large groups that could create congestion. Avoid stopping in high-traffic areas that could obstruct the flow of other skaters.
Keep it Recreational: Speed skating and figure skating maneuvers are not permitted during public skating sessions, and the use of hockey equipment such as sticks and pucks is prohibited.
Supervision is Key: Parents and guardians are responsible for the safety and supervision of their children at all times and must remain within sight and control of them. Please do not leave children unattended.
Proper Footwear: Ice skates are mandatory for all participants; street shoes are not permitted on the ice.
Hand Safety: To avoid injury, do not place your hands on the ice surface, where they could be stepped on by other skaters' blades.
Helmet Policy: Children aged 10 and under are required to wear a CSA-certified hockey helmet. While strongly recommended for all participants, helmets are especially encouraged for newer or less confident skaters.
Stay Aware and Report Hazards: Keep a close watch to avoid collisions; and report any hazards or unsafe conditions on the ice to arena staff immediately.
Substance Free Skating: Please refrain from skating while under the influence of drugs, alcohol or other substances that could impair your control.
Respect Resurfacing: When the Zamboni is coming on the ice, please exit the ice surface immediately. Keep all exits clear and refrain from sitting on the dasher boards. Before stepping onto the ice, make sure the way is clear for any oncoming skaters.
No Food or Drink on Ice: Food and drink are not permitted on the ice surface or the surrounding dasher or cap rail.
Hands-Free Skating: Refrain from carrying children or other items while skating.
Stay Focused: For safety reasons, headphones and the use of PDAs or cell phones are not permitted while skating.
Be Considerate: Please do not engage in any behavior that may create danger or cause injury to yourself or anyone else.
Keep the Ice Clean: Do not throw or leave any items on the ice surface.
Report Accidents: Please report any injuries or accidents to arena staff before leaving the facility.
Respect the Facility: Please treat the Stephen Township Arena with care and respect.
By adhering to these guidelines, we can all enjoy a safe and fun-filled public skating session. We look forward to seeing you on the ice!
